The Pixiu is long known as the great protector and granter of all things to those who practice Feng Shui. Even if you don't practice this ancient martial art, it is still possible to summon the Pixiu to help you. You'll just need a little bit of magic. That's what this piece is.
This piece summons forth the presence of the Pixiu. When you meditate with your item, the Pixiu will appear to you in its spiritual form. It will either appear to you in a humanoid form or in its original form which would look something like a small lion. It depends on what form the Pixiu feel comfortable taking around you, which depends on how well you connect with the piece.
