Hermes Trismegistus was an ancient scribe of sacred knowledge. He is the keeper of the three parts of wisdom of the whole universe. Some say he has been many people over time. Various prophets and scribes throughout history. That he was also the ancient king of Egypt who carried the same name.
The first true historical account of him was in Egypt 172 B.C. His last writing under the name Hermes Trismegistus was of The Emerald Tablet. The origins unknown as it was well traveled and translated into many languages. However it was signed by Hermes himself. He describes himself as both the Greek god Hermes and the Egyptian god Thoth.
His knowledge of all Sacred texts could confound us all. He even foresaw Christianity if legends are believed. However, we don't need to worry about legends.
