One of the place the Ephraim took me during our travels was right here in my own back yard, if you can consider an hour's drive north my backyard.  Either way, it was a lot closer than I had expected after he told me that his mission was to educate and that it was futile for me to resist his advances.  I am the one he has chosen, so it is I who has been educated and I who will most likely continue to be educated until Ephraim believes that I have learned enough.  Call it how you see it, but the first place that Ephraim decided to take me was a small town in Pennsylvania called Centralia.  Or should I say it used to be a small town in Pennsylvania.  It is a place that we have written about before.  It's a place that we have visited before, but this time the existence of the sleepy little town came to life for me.
Centralia is not a place that I unheard of.  The legend goes that the town was abandoned after a fire started in a coal mine.  The fire just never stopped burning.  It has burned and burned and burned ever since.  On a good day, you can visit Centralia and see the smoke rising up out of the crevices that have been created in the ground.  There is an abandoned highway there that has seen the handiwork of graffiti artists from all over the world, myself included.  I'm not much of an artist, but I didn't want to be left out, so I've marked my territory as well.  The town hosts two cemeteries, one that is much older than the other.  In fact, if you want to get technical, there are three is you count the Indian burial ground that has never been kept on the records.  There is a rather grandiose church that can be seen on an adjacent mountain from the smaller of the two graveyards.  There are smokestacks that go deep into the Earth every which way you turn, and driving down some of the abandoned streets shows evidence of what used to be.  It is the perfect storybook setting, which is probably why a video game-turned-movie was created, using Centralia as it's basis of existence.
Having said all that, Centralia is more than just a burning coal mine or the basis for some video games with Gothic goblins.  The government knows this.  That's exactly why most of Centralia, including the graffiti highway has been deemed illegal for trespassers.  They hide behind the muse that they only want what is best for the passersby, but in all actuality, the real reason that the government doesn't want people nosing around is because then they might find out.  They might discover the truth.  Somebody, somewhere might actually be able to prove what the government has known all along, that Centralia is a gateway between the world as we know it and the word that exists on the other side.  By the other side, I'm talking about the realm of the un-living.  I use this term to collectively refer to the realms that are the origins of all the things that go bump in the night.  Basically Centralia is a convergence of worlds, which is why once the fire was ignited, it has remained lit until this very day.
This very unique, very powerful, one-of-a-kind piece has been made by the fire of the eternal flame of Centralia.  "So what?"  You might ask.  Well I'll tell you what is very special about this piece.  Sometimes we have items that have been to different realms and hold their powers.  In this case, it holds the powers of the convergence of worlds-- the essence of many different types of realms.  This means the item can be used to conjure any number of entities.  It can be used to conjure up a soul.  It can be used to conjure a vampire.  During testing it has been used to conjure angels, djinn, werewolves, mermaids, leprechauns, fairies and heaven hounds alike.  You do not get to keep these entities unless you meet one that wants to be kept.  However, you do get to use the powers of whatever kind of entity it is that you summon; and the best part is that you are not limited to one specific type of entity at all.  You can use this piece again and again, because like the flame in Centralia, it's power will never die.  You can use this piece to conjure a mermaid for wealth one time and them conjure a djinn to grant you wishes the next.  It's a complete wild ball, but it is very, very powerful.
