Situated in the Northern African continent is a country that traces its roots back to ancient times.  I have visited this country countless times, for magic abounds in this place.  It was the second place I visited after I escaped from my captors, after a short stay in the German Black Forest.  The people in Egypt, despite all of the magic that exists there, are merely a shadow of what their civilization used to be.  At one point, they were the strongest and most influential civilization in the world.  Somewhere along the line they lost their influence in the world, probably when they were conquered by the Romans or the Greeks.  The Egyptians have never been a civilization known for their excellent military might.  Given the fact that they were shielded by the Mediterranean in the North, they never had much to worry about because they were undoubtedly stronger than their neighbors to the South, the Kush Empire.

With that being said, there was a period of about a century or so, around the year 728 BC that the Kushites managed to gain the upper hand on the Egyptians and picked off their cities one by one.  The Kushites were not stupid people, either.  The recognized the need to keep the Egyptians around in order to have a chance at maintaining control of the large mass of land the Egyptians controlled.  Thus, they started a merger of the two empires.  It was a hybrid in religion and power.  For the first time, the people of the Kushite Empire assimilated Egyptian magic into their culture.  This is where they Sphinx of Taharqo comes from.  Looking at the Sphinx you can tell that it is of Egyptian influence, but with the rounder face of a Black African, not an Egyptian face.  This was because he was a ruler of the combined empires of Egypt and Kush.  This brief period in history is often forget ten, but even after the Egyptians reclaimed their own land the magic was taken back to the Kushite territories where they not only built their own pyramids, but also their own sphinxes.
During one of my trips to Egypt, I ventured even further south.  I believe I was in what would be considered modern day Sudan, but it was a very long time ago, so maybe I'm slightly off.  The fact is that I arrived there after hearing about a secret Sphinx that was kept inside of a Temple to the South of Egypt.  I hired a guide to take me to the place of origins, where the legend said the Sphinx existed.  At first, I began to think that it was just that - a legend.  That was until I was pointed in the right direction by one of the locals.  You would be surprised what you can accomplish in those parts with a little bit of money.  They would probably sell you their children!
I made my way to the temple, which holds an inscription that reads, "the Great Hall of Taharqo."  Inside of the hall is a larger replica of the smaller sphinx that is kept inside a museum.  An inscription on the Sphinx's chest reads the great monarch's name and the face of the Sphinx is identically his.  The Sphinx stares straight ahead with gold an ruby eyes.  It is not nearly as big as the original, but it is pretty big.  I crept forward, admiring its beauty, admiring it's craftsmanship.
There was a inscription written on the paw of the giant half cat-half man. I traced my finger over it, reading it aloud.  This is when the Sphinx's mouth dropped open and this piece fell out of it.  Of course I ran over to collect, not really knowing what to expect, but the moment I gazed into the piece, I could see everything.  By everything I mean I could see the start of the Egyptian civilization up until the modern age.  All of it played out to me as if I was watching a hologram.  As I watched, I was totally surrounded by that world.  The people and objects became very real and I could touch them and interact with them.  I was taken to the place where the Egyptian ancients were first granted the secrets of the pyramids.  I was shown the prototype of the pyramid and how to built my own.
I'm calling this piece the Eye of Taharqo. After all, the Sphinx was designated to him, just as the small one was.  With this piece you can gaze into tho eye and it will give you holographic visions of all things Egyptian, especially the sphinx, who is the guardian of all Egyptian knowledge.  This knowledge will allow you to build your own sphinxes in the metaphysical realm.  During the construction of your sphinx, you will be able to call out a power that they will bring to you.  In order to build the sphinx, you need to only speak out loud what you want it to look like and the forces in the metaphysical realms will build it with the magic that this piece holds.
You can use this piece actually two ways, you can use it to be able to look through history to see the history of Egypt and their lost knowledge or you can build these living, breathing sphinxes of knowledge in order to gain power.  Remember each one only holds one power, so when you have amassed a bunch of these, this necklace will allow you open up your third eye and see through the eyes of all the sphinx you have built to summon and use all the powers that you have created.  The Egyptian knew all magic, so you can literally summon any type of magic you want into your entities and keep them for later.  It is a very unique, one-of-a-kind power that you will not find anywhere else.  It fully embodies all the knowledge of the Egyptians as given to them by their space faring visitors in ancient times.
