The Ojo Caliente is one of the most famous healing pools in the United State of America. Located in Northern New Mexico, it is said to be the bathing spot of the gods in ancient time. The ancients knew the powers of the healing pool in times passed and they visited the pools often to be ritually cleansed with the powers that are born into the waters. Present day, the spa is visited once a year by Buddhist Monks who bring blessings and sanctification to the waters by the Dalai Lama himself. I’m not really sure how Buddhist monks tie into it all, but they come without fail every year, at least once a year.
The pools belonged to a tribe called the Tewa Puebla until the 15th Century when the Spanish decided they wanted to be nosey and come to America and try to enforce their rules on everyone. Eventually, the use of the pools became less frequent. It wasn’t until a company bought up the area and put a spa there that the use of the healing pools spiked in popularity again. People now visit the springs again on a regular basis, which have been divided into four separate pools based on the minerals that each pool offers. And again, the Buddhist monks travel there annually and have been for years.
Long story short, nobody really knows why these healing springs work, but they do. The Natives say that it is a residual energy of the gods. Other people say it has to do with healing magic that is found in the ground. I couldn’t tell you for sure, but what I can tell you is that the power in these pieces is just as powerful. They have been to the healing pools and have been soaked in the water of all four pools that are now offered.
