Librum De Vivens Mortua
Throughout history there has been an inherent desire to learn as much about the unknown as possible, almost to the point of obsession. I somewhat comprehend this notion. As once being a mere mortal I can fully understand why the study of immortal beings would be foreign to the mind of somebody who is born to inevitably die. It might seem like a pointless cycle. I can assure you, however, that this cycle is only temporary and there are greater things that those on Earth that you will encounter when you cross over into the afterlife. In some ways being an immortal is almost as much of curse as it is a charm. For instance, I know many vampires who long for the day that they are terminated, simply because they've been roving the earth for such a long time, they want nothing more than to move on. Once you become the undead, you cannot cause your own demise. It has be brought on by an outside force or it will not work. Therefore there are armies of undead creatures that lurk in the shadows, because most of them cringe at the thought of sunlight, not for the fear of demise, but because they do not want to catch a glimpse of what they once were.
Having said that, there are many entities that enjoy being immortal. They enjoy the many powers that have been attributed to whatever class of undead creature they are. Some actually occupy more than one type of undead creature and are referred to as hybrids. These are the ones that are portrayed on the silver screen, because they embrace what they have become and embellish it. They constantly work on becoming evermore powerful than they have ever been before. These are the majority of what make up the underground culture of many large cities that include vampires, lycanthropes, animorphics, and other types of undead, immortal creatures. Their legends persist and the wonderment of those who are mortals continues.
If you are one of those mortals that crave the knowledge of these undead creatures, then I supposed I've found a bit of knowledge that will tickle your particular fancy. This piece is a codex that corresponds to an original text that is written on the walls of the largest catacombs to have even be unearthed. The ossuaries exist beneath the streets of France and have been there for hundreds of years. There is simply no denying the fact that these ossuaries contain a significant source of spiritual energy and activity. For crying in a bucket, they make movies about the place. I daresay that these same people who film movies and write scripts about what could possibly happen in such a place have an inkling of a notion about what is really hidden in the catacombs. The same goes for these people that call themselvesarchaeologist's. The thing is that these people just don't understand. They see what they want to discover and never really fully expedite those things that exist right under their noses. I guess it's neither here nor there, but allow me to enlighten you. In the French ossuaries there is an ancient sacred text. Nobody has yet to discover how to interpret the text. They simply cannot crack the code. There are those in the circle-- whom I like to refer to those underground entities in the know-- who could read the texts perfectly and those who could pick up on the meaning psychically. I can pick up on them both, thanks in part to my adept psychic abilities. It is also thanks, in part, to an item that I picked up along the way.
Actually, this piece comes from a Egyptian Necromancer. He is called Bes, or the protector. He watches over an ancient magic and as he has told me, he was there during the construction of the ossusaries and was the one who assisted in the writing of the secret text. The item that he gave to me was the codex to the cypher in which the messages have been written. He calls the texts the Librum De Vivens Mortua, I'll let you do a little research to learn that one on your own. Although, the powers that this piece possess may be a dead give away. Hmm, I suppose we shall see, no? I passed a little of time with Bes, staying outside of Alexandria. I learned from him as much as I could, as he is quite older than I am and he is one of the immortals that have no desire to go anywhere anytime soon. He is not one of the undead beings, but he is still immortal as the magic has made him that way. Giving me this piece, he told me that it was my final task to uncover the mystery set into the piece. I won't want to you that it wasn't a challenge, because I wouldn't be telling the truth. In my defense, Bes simply handed me the piece and told me to figure it out. It took me half a decade to finally figure out the powers in the piece he gave me.
The item that he gave me is an eternal codex. This means that it forever holds the powers of the corresponding script to which is connected. Only when the texts are destroyed will it ever lose it's power. Since the text that it corresponds to are etched into stone, I can say with great confidence that the text will never be destroyed, let alone discovered. People are just too plain dumb to really understand these things. It is quite fine, though because using this piece you will become un-dumb. Un-dumb? Why of course! Un-dumb to what? Un-dumb to the undead! This piece's powers have been fully activated ever since I figured out what they entailed, five years after it was given to me. It holds the secret codex that corresponds to the Librum De Vivens Mortua. Using this key to the codex, you can perform a summoning for any type of undead creature that you choose. You can do this for mere knowledge, to obtain the power and abilities of different types of undead creatures, or perhaps just because you think undead creatures are cool and you want to see them for yourself. What you do with it once it's yours is entirely up to you. I have shared the powers and abilities, so you know what it is capable of doing. It's like the piece contains a library of every type of undead creature to have existed including, but certainly not limited to, Vampire, Lycanthropes, Grave Dirt Golems, Mummies, Zombies, Micro-Elementals, Shadow Spirits, Sleep Walkers, and Specters. This piece is highly versatile and will accommodate whatever purposes you wish to succeed.
I chose this piece because not only does it give you the powers of the script, but it also contains a horseshoe for good luck, with which I have sealed a protection spell for your journeys among the undead. In the center of the horseshoe is the iris of magic that holds all the powers that I have discussed above. The ring is sterling silver, size 7 1/2. If this isn't your size, or you just don't like wearing rings you can also use this piece as a pendant on a chain.
