Here is something that we don't see very often. It's a secret society that is made up of only women. Talk about girl power! They are a secret cult of women who have existed since ancient times. They served as the handmaidens for the daughter of Thebes, the Great Royal Wife of Akhenaten, Neferneferuaten Nefertiti. That's a very long name, so we are just going to call her Nef from here on out.
Nef played a very pivotal role in establishing the Cult of Aten. Now, who is Aten? He is the Sun Disc in deified form. He is the giver of life and the ancient eye who sees all and who knows all. He is the giver of wisdom. He is the protector of all who venerates him. This is the deity that was set in place by Akhenaten and his Queen wife Nefertiti. Everybody thinks that Akhenaten had a very extraordinary personal relationship with Aten and in some ways that was true. I'll tell you the truth, though.
