The Traveler's Requiem
There is a kindred race of beings that live in the universe. Nobody is really quite sure where they have come from or where they will go next. In fact, the only thing that is known about them is that they are called Travelers. They are primordial beings that have been around since before time was created. See, time is a construct that was created by humans that don’t understand the concept of infinity. God is infinite, for example. He always was and he always will be. However, the only two things that are certain for human life are its beginning and its end, so we suffer from this delusion called time. Travelers are entities that are able to control time, but not only time. They hold energies that are able to manipulate and govern the space-time continuum.
Travelers are formless beings. They have heightened levels of intelligence and are extremely aware of their surroundings. They are like chameleons in that they can quickly adapt to their surroundings, except they have the ability to shift their entire physical form to blend in with their environment rather than just their colors. As such, when we encountered one of these travelers in the Earthen realm he appeared to us an older gentleman. He wore a suit and bowtie, a tophat, and a monocle. He was slender in appearance and spoke to us from behind a pipe that he held tight between his teeth.
He is the one that summoned us, not the other way around. It was the strangest thing, he just kind of showed up at the door one day. He knocked, we answered and he pretty much invited himself in so that way he could invite us to his place. It was strange. His place was a mansion in a very affluent part of Pennsylvania. We’re not sure if this is a place that Travelers frequent when they visit Earth or maybe it only really existed in our mind. Either way, he pulled this compass out of his breast pocket and gave it to us. It was then that he showed us who he really was and his true abilities. This is how I have been able to tell you what I told you. Other than that, they are a mysterious group. We know nothing more or less than what has been written here.
What we do know is that this compass is extremely powerful. It doesn’t allow you to time travel in the physical sense, although it will allow you to see any place you want to visit in your mind. The kicker with this piece is that it allows you to pull magic from anywhere along the space-time continuum. It creates a space-time vortex that will pull powers and magic from other places and store them inside so that way you can use them whenever you want to. To use the piece is very simple. You only have to hold the watch in your hands while envisioning the magic that you want and the place it comes from. For example, if you want to gain the magic of Christ’s Blood, envisions the crucifixion. If you want to gain power from the pyramids, envision the power that you want while envisioning the pyramids in the background. The piece will create a vortex that will manifest the powers that you have asked for.
