Vampire Queen Zymera | STAR
Zymera was a vampire queen best known for her influence over all that the darkness was able to touch. During a time where it was the belief in multiple Gods that was prevalent, Zymera would unleash darkness onto small villages to instill fear to broaden her area of control. She was appeased often under the pretense of being Death itself even though she was not. For a short period of time, she was regarded as his lover and statues were built in or among certain temples erected on behalf of Death. One group of people regarded her as the daughter of Hades for a short period of time. She even had a cult under her, which consisted of the few humans that knew she existed alongside those who were or could be convinced.
Pyramids were built in the shallows of the ocean, all of which were decorated with solid gold capstones coated in sheer red enamel, the style similar to those of Egyptians. Sacrifices would be made to her within or before these pyramids, oftentimes to summon her before them in physical being so they could ask her for her blessings upon whatever it was they had come to believe she could grant. This was just one of the reasons she grew to have an adversity toward humans.
Above all, she believed them to be beneath her. She only desired their fear and respect, without which her power would dwindle but she attempted to make certain that humans would never become aware of this. Due to this, it wasn't often that Zymera interacted with them, which is why history doesn't have much recorded about her. It kept the timeline of her appearances inconsistent and hard to follow but the massive downside to it all was found in the fact that she would wait so long without feeding her own needs that, when she finally gave in, she would take quite a few lives, which in itself was difficult to hide.
She fed off of fear like a leech to blood but no where near as consistently. It empowered her like love, admiration and belief fed the Gods. When she felt weak, she would become darkness and creep upon those who let the darkness reach them at night. Eventually, however, some caught on and they would leave a candle beside their beds to ward off darkness and subsequently Zymera as well. Slowly but surely, her power was deprived of its source and Zymera grew weak.
The same people who followed her and even sacrificed to her had been the ones to take advantage of her. When she was at her weakest point, barely inches from Death, she was saved by her following but not out of nobility. They intended to use her power to gain power of their own. However, the power fed Zymera as well and she, vindictive as she was, decided to use her final moment of free will to take those who intended to cage and use her with her in death.
This piece was created from this. Inside is caged all the spirits of those who had attempted to harness her power, the specific number of souls is unknown. Alongside them is Zymera who produces an unsettling aura, especially when this piece is immersed in darkness. With it, you will gain power in darkness. Zymera's power is empowered through you and rather than her benefiting from this, it'll manifest in you instead.
We do not recommend going out of your way and immersing yourself in complete darkness on a constant basis. You could sleep with this piece at night and it will be just as effective in helping the power grow.
This piece is an antique.
